신희정은 몸과 물질, 그리고 기술 사이의 관계를 탐구하는 다원예술 작가다. 설치, 안무, 조형, 미술, 퍼포먼스, 그리고 VR·로봇 등 기술 매체를 넘나들며 작업한다.
서양화를 전공한 뒤, 사라지는 것들 — 몸짓, 호흡, 현존 — 을 어떻게 기록하고 나눌 수 있는가라는 질문을 중심으로 작업과 연구를 이어오고 있다. 관객은 작품을 바라보는 사람이 아니라, 작품을 함께 완성하는 존재로 초대된다.
작업과 더불어 관객과 작품 사이의 경험에 관한 글을 쓰고 학술 논문을 발표하며, 퍼포먼스의 기록과 아카이브에 관한 연구를 진행하고 있다.
Heejung Shin is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the relationship between body, material, and technology. Her practice moves across installation, choreography, sculpture, fine art, performance, and technological media such as VR and robotics.
Trained in painting, she works and writes around a single question: how can the things that disappear — gesture, breath, presence — be documented and shared? The audience is invited not as a spectator but as someone who completes the work.
Alongside her practice she writes and publishes academic papers on the experience between spectator and artwork, and researches the documentation and archiving of performance.
